A question we are often asked is, how do we get to snag cheap flights?
A lot of tips have already been shared online. We will share some of the tips we usually follow but we also believe in having a fair amount of luck to snag the best deals.
Right at this moment, there is an ongoing flight sale with AirAsia dubbed as their year-end Red Hot Sale. They are offering 5 million promo seats across their network. We just booked a round trip flight from Manila to Kalibo for six (6) persons for 96 BIG Points and PHP2,491.44 top up amount. That is only 8 BIG Points and PHP207. 62 per person. It's really a good deal!
Tips on how we snagged this really low fare:
1. Always be on the look out for flight sales. If you can, subscribe to the email newsletters and/or follow the social media accounts of different airlines to be updated on upcoming promotions.
2. Check if there is an exclusive window for members of the airline's loyalty program. If you are, good news as it is a great opportunity for you to get ahead of the public and snag deals at your most preferred dates. For the ongoing Red Hot Sale, there is a 24-hour priority booking window for members from November 12, 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM. For non-members, public sale starts on November 13, 12:00 AM.
3. Always book on the first day - in the wee hours of the date of the sale. The key is to always book early and to never give up. We were able to book at 1:46 AM after trying so many times to get into the booking system. The first hour is usually very busy and a lot of times, based on experience, the system would crash due to the overwhelming number of people accessing the site at the same time. Just be patient.
8. Connect to a fast internet connection. This is really important as you are only given a few minutes to search and book your flights. Once your session time is up, you will have to redo everything from the beginning.
